From the website:
Out of Bounds Brewing brings years of Pacific Northwest brewing experience to the Sierra Nevada Foothills & celebrates the Northern Californian lifestyle at it’s best with award-winning, handcrafted beers.
This is one of Folsom’s newest and only breweries in the town that I used to live in for over twelve years (before moving to Georgia a year ago). While visiting over the weekend I noticed OBBC while heading to my hotel and had to stop in and check it out.
They call it a Craft Kitchen and Biergarten. The size of the pub area is spectacularly large with two bars and a very large outdoor area that include bocce ball, cornhole and lots more including live bands on weekends. Was told the interior is 5000 sqft and the outdoor area over 10000 sqft, this is one heckuva very nice sized biergarten!
The staff was great, very attentive. Not once did a beer go empty before asking if I’d like a refill. In my book that’s service that is as good as it gets!
They pour all their own beers (brewed in nearby Rocklin) and they had some nice wines too. Their beer styles consisted of IPA’s, DIPA’s, Blondes, a Lager, Stout and a Pilsner.
I first tried their Peaches and Cream Kettle Sour ABV 6%, IBU 1 because I am a serious fan of sours and like to try them all whenever I can find them at a brewery or gastropub. It was pretty darn good. But you have to be a sour fan to appreciate sour beers.
The next beer I had turned out to be my favorite (which means I had a few), it was very refreshing and very tasty. A perfect summer brew to beat the heat and enjoy. The Strawberry Blonde ABV 5% IBU 14.
For food I had their Out of Bounds Craft Burger which was a Certified Angus Beef, House Bun, Smoked Cheddar, Peruvian Potato Chips, Field Greens, Tomato, Red Onion, Garlic Aioli .
It was interesting having potato chips on the burger which gave it a nice crunch. It was very good overall and came with tasty fries. Their menu is good and includes typical gastropub fare such as giant pretzels, chicken wings, tacos, flatbreads and much more.
Having a wicked sweet tooth I had to try one of their desserts too so I got their Cinnamon Roll Bread Pudding covered in frosting and powdered sugar, damn it was good! Sorry no photo because I ate it before I could take a photo of it heh.
All in all it was a really nice experience, the place has a really cool ambiance, great staff, and excellent beers and food.
Great people, food, wine and beer – check them out if you are ever in Folsom California!
Cheers!
